8   LÉGENDE  D' AMOUR

Quand je suis près de toi, ma mie
Tu répètes non sans aigreur
Cette navrante mélodie
De tes jours, de tes nuits de pleurs

Tu dis: "Pourquoi me laisser seule

Me dit déjà tant de douceur
Des fois, le dur revers aime
La belle muse dans nos coeur

Jusqu' à jamais dans la légende
"Toujours aimer, toujours souffrir..."
On vit la vie, belle et si grande
Ne disons pas ..." toujours mourir " *

* Pierre Corneille dit:
"Toujours aimer,toujours souffrir, toujours mourir"
(Suréna, Acte II, Scene 3).

LOVE LEGEND

Dearest one, it's the same melody much sad
You repeat any time I am in sight
That song you sing about your bad
Shedding of solely tears day and night

Yoiu already say, "Why leave alone
With my music and with my verses?"
Darling, I am so weak a one
But love is to be made of reverses!

So well you know when one love sweetly
One says," forgiveness and understanding"
Even in silence one gives forth secretly
Through space and time one' s sobs heart rending

I do stay and endure -- not to depart --
The tune of your bitter but soft refrain
That of a loving and impatient heart
Breaking through a trying path of pain

Piping your eyes, you thrust me away
Once I manage to come with you
Yeas, -- just for a span -- I' ll go my way
But you do fail into my arms, and all is through

Your heart that rythmes so well with mine
To me has meant many things most meek
Yet sometimes reverses are so fine
In enhancing the Muse our hearts seek

Forever to this legend we' llbe faithful
"Always loving, alway suffering ... " *
Living our life most great and beautiful
And never to say, "always dying..." *
---
* A line by Pierre Corneille, a great French poet-dramatist reads -- (in Surena, Act II, Scene 3): "Toujours aimer, toujours souffrir, toujours mourir".

CHUYỆN TÌNH

Khi ta đến gần em, em hỡi
Em lặp hoài điệp khúc cay chua
Những lời than hôm sớm đợi chờ
Ngóng trông mãi trong làn nước mắt

Em bảo sao anh hoài vắng mặt
Để em sầu khúc nhạc vần thơ
Này em ơi, anh chẳng thờ ơ
Nhưng tinh huống còn bao nẻo trái

Em thừa hiểu trong vòng luyến ái
Có cảm thông rộng rãi cùng nhau
Có khi chung lặng ngấm cơn sầu
Qua mọi cảnh thời gian khoảng cách

Anh đến đây đợi chờ hận trách
Điệp khúc buồn từ đáy lòng em
Cả con tim khối óc ưu phiền
Cuộc tình vẫn khó khăn tìm lối

Mắt đẫm lệ em hoài xua đuổi
Mỗi khi anh âu yếm lại gần
Anh đành lui, vừa một bước chân
Vào lòng anh em đà vội ngã

Đôi buồng tim cùng chung nhịp thở
Đã nói nhiều êm dịu bên nhau
Dù lắm khi bước khó qua cầu
Âu cũng thắm tươi niềm thử thách

Câu chuyện tình lưu truyền sử sách
Vốn dệt bằng yêu lẫn đau thương
Cuộc đời ta cao đẹp lạ dường
Chớ nên nói câu tình mãi chết. *

* như thi sĩ- kịch tác gia Pháp P. Corneille, nói,
"Toujours  aimer, toujours souffrir, toujours mourir" --
(Surena, Hồi II- Màn 3) --"Yêu hoài, khổ luôn và chết mãi".
